JNM Permission Policies
Non-commercial use, including re-use in peer-reviewed journals
JNM allows reuse of excerpted original material, such as abstracts, short text excerpts, figures, and tables, provided appropriate credit is given to the copyright holder and the material is not used for commercial purposes. Non-commercial uses include articles in peer-review journals, classroom/teaching material, and academic theses/dissertations. Full article reprints require explicit permission with exceptions as noted below. For bulk reprints, see our reprint page.

If used in a web-only publication (e.g, a web page), a link to the original article should be provided. Materials published in another medium that are additionally posted to the web should include a link if appropriate.
This reuse license applies only to original material published in JNM. SNMMI does not hold copyright to reprinted material credited to other sources. Copyright to material published by presenters at SNMMI Annual Meetings is retained by the original authors.
Commercial
To reprint JNM material for commercial use (textbooks by for-profit publishers, corporate marketing material, etc.), a written request is required for permission. Please submit your request by email to permissions@snmmi.org. Required information includes your full contact information, information about your usage, and the full citation the requested material as detailed in the online request form. A form listing the required information is available here. Written permission is not required for reuse in other peer-reviewed journals (see above) or when the requestor is an author on the original article (see below)

Immediate Open Access
Articles noted as “Immediate Open Access” are licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY), which allows users to share original work as long as appropriate credit is given to the copyright holder, including for commercial purposes. Immediate Open Access articles are noted as such in the footer of the article.

SNMMI Annual Meeting Abstracts
Copyright for abstracts, posters, presentations, and other materials presented at SNMMI Annual Meetings is held by SNMMI for the duration of that year’s meeting, but reverts to the original authors following its conclusion. SNMMI retains a license to publish those abstracts in JNM, but copyright remains with the original authors.
Author’s Permission to Reprint
JNM authors retain the following nonexclusive, usage rights, to be exercised only after the article has been published in final format in the print version of JNM or six months from date of Ahead of Print publication.
(a) Reprint the article in print collections of the author’s own writing.
(b) Present the article orally in its entirety.
(c) Use the article in theses and/or dissertations.
(d) Reproduce the article for use in courses the author is teaching. (If the author is employed by an academic institution, that institution may also reproduce the article for course teaching.)
(e) Distribute photocopies of the article to colleagues, but only for noncommercial purposes.
(f) Reuse original figures and tables in future works created by the author, including commercial works.
(g) Post a copy of the article on the author’s personal website, departmental website, and/or the university/institutional repository, provided a hyperlink to the article on the JNM website is included.
(h) In all the instances under clauses a through g above, the author will give proper credit to the original publication in JNM as follows:
